Introduction

Established in 1996, the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT) is the largest mathematics assessment organization in the UK, providing a wide range of nationally accredited mathematics assessments to over 700,000 students in more than 6,000 schools each year.

Students may choose either the UKMT-MCG, a short-answer competition, or the UKMT-MOG, featuring five
more challenging problems, some requiring full solutions. The two challenges share some common questions. Top
performers receive a Certificate of Distinction, and outstanding results are an important reference for selection to the
European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad.

* Students possessing British school enrollment status are not allowed to participate in China

5 main questions in total, 10 points each

Scoring System

MCG: 5 main questions (10 points each), each consisting of several short-answer questions.

MOG: 5 main questions (10 points each), each consisting of several sub-questions. Two require short answers only, while the remaining three require full written solutions. Some points will be awarded for partially correct solutions.

Awards

MCG:

  • Distinction: the score line for 2025 is 18+
  • Merit: the score line for 2025 is 9+
  • Best in School: The player who ranks first in the school will be awarded this prize
  • Best in Year: The player who ranks first in each grade of the school will be awarded this prize

MOG:

  • Distinction: the score line for 2025 is 24+
  • Merit: the score line for 2025 is 14+
  • Best in School: The player who ranks first in the school will be awarded this prize
  • Best in Year: The player who ranks first in each grade of the school will be awarded this prize

From 2026 onwards, approximately the top 70 UK participants will receive Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in a 1:2:3 ratio. Participants in China will be awarded medals based on the same score thresholds as those applied in the UK.

* The names of the awards may change every year, subject to the awards announced by the Organizing Committee in that year.

* Students who are awarded with Merit and Honorable Mentions will receive the corresponding certificates, while the rest of the participating students will receive electronic certificates of participation.

REFUND POLICY

If, for some reason, the student is unable to attend after paying the fee, please contact us. If you apply before the registration deadline, 25% of the registration fee will be deducted as academic materials and service fees. If you apply after the registration deadline, no refund will be given.
