Introduction
The Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad (SEAMO) was established in 2016 and is now a highly influential mathematics event in the Asia-Pacific region. Every year, students from more than 20 countries and regions will participate this event. Since 1991, its founding team (Terry Chew Institute of Mathematical Olympiads) has developed a unique framework for mathematics education by studying the Mathematical Olympiad curricula in Singapore, the United States of America, Russia and other regions. The SEAMO syllabus is therefore not only based on the Singapore Mathematical Olympiad curriculum, but also incorporates elements from international mathematics education systems, aiming to comprehensively deep understanding of mathematical concepts, as well as to stimulate students’ creative and critical thinking in the problem-solving process.
